Add a music visualizer to your Mac's menu bar

Updated September 5, 2026

FAQ

Does the visualizer work with Spotify and Apple Music?

Yes. It listens to the Mac's audio output, so it reacts to Spotify, Music, a browser or any other app that plays sound. The Artwork color mode follows the cover of the track that is playing.

Does it react to any sound or only to music apps?

Any sound the Mac plays. A per-app profile can keep the visualizer off while a particular app is in front, and a global shortcut toggles it from anywhere.

Can I control playback from the menu bar?

Yes: hold ⌥ and click or drag the progress bar to seek, press ⌥ ← or ⌥ → to skip 10 seconds, and ⌥ ↑ or ⌥ ↓ to change track.

Does it run on external displays?

Not yet. The overlay runs on one display today; multi-display support is coming soon.
